Job Title: Adult and Children’s Sessional Worker for Arts, Crafts, Cooking and Gardening Therapeutic Sessions
Salary: £15 per hour
Locations: The Power of Resilience CIC Office, Stamford Street, at Ridge Hill Together Centre, Ambleside and The Anthony Seddon Centre, Ashton-under-Lyne
Hours: Sessional (as per schedule of events)

Role Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and creative Sessional Worker to support our therapeutic arts, crafts, cooking and gardening sessions. This role involves working closely with individuals and groups to facilitate engaging, inclusive, and therapeutic activities that promote wellbeing, confidence, and resilience. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with diverse individuals, a strong understanding of therapeutic practices, and a commitment to supporting our Christian ethos and values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and delivering arts, crafts, cooking and gardening activities that meet the needs of participants.
  • Support individuals in a therapeutic and inclusive manner, encouraging creativity and personal expression.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and supportive environment for all participants.
  • Work alongside other team members to ensure the smooth running of sessions whilst promoting a sense of community and belonging, adhering to the principles of inclusion and equality.
  • Ensure that all activities are delivered safely, following health and safety protocols.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and continuous improvement of our programmes.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those facing mental health challenges, disabilities, or other life difficulties.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with individuals and groups.
  • An understanding and respect for our Christian values, particularly around love, compassion, inclusivity, and support.
  • A non-judgmental approach to working with people from all walks of life.
  • A commitment to inclusivity and ensuring that all participants feel valued and supported.
  • This post is for a year-round position. Those only available in term-time need not apply.
  • An enhanced DBS role will be required for this post.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working in a therapeutic setting, community arts, or a similar environment.
  • A passion for arts, crafts, and gardening as tools for healing and wellbeing.
  • Own vehicle
  • L2 Food hygiene in the last 3 years
  • First Aid Certificate in the last 3 years
